Join us and experience Bohinj at its most authentic and joyful. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Set against the backdrop of <strong>Ukanc<\/strong>\u2019s stunning natural beauty, the Kravji bal \u2013 Bohinj\u2019s oldest traditional event \u2013 comes to life every year. Its origins date back to the 1950s, when, at the end of the grazing and tourist season, locals, alpine herdsmen and innkeepers would come together to celebrate a successful summer. Today, the <strong>Bohinj Tourist Association<\/strong> proudly continues this tradition.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The highlight of the event is the traditional arrival of the herdsmen from the higher-lying Bohinj mountain pastures, who lead festively decorated herds of cattle down into the valley, carrying on their shoulders the famous \u2018basengo\u2019 \u2013 all the equipment needed for life and work on the mountain pastures. The arrival is scheduled for  <strong>at around 1 pm <\/strong>, and the whole event is taking place <strong>from 10 am to 6 pm  <\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h4>PERFORMERS:<\/h4>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li><strong>Ensemble Sa\u0161a Avsenika<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ensemble Alpskih 7<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ensemble S&#8217; pod Triglava<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ensemble \u0160kis kvintet<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The dairy farms of Bohinj<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Brass band Bohinj <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Guest Brass Band Lukovica<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The Folklore Group of the Bohinj Cultural Association<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Guest performance by the Folklore Group of the Podgorci Cultural Association<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The Folklore Group of the Triglav Cultural and Artistic Association of Srednja vas<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Alongside the music and cultural programme, visitors can look forward to authentic local Bohinj cuisine and Bohinj cheese, a display of agricultural and forestry machinery, an exhibition of vintage vehicles, a presentation of Bohinj cycles, children\u2019s workshops and entertainment, traditional farm games, and a prize draw with plenty of prizes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The event will be complemented by a varied range of stalls run by local traders and craftspeople, where you can discover local cheeses, bee products, embroidery, unique jewellery, wooden items, dried goods and other local produce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Maja Tekavec and Jure Sodja will be hosting the event.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>FREE TRANSPORT TO THE EVENT<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>Free bus transport <\/strong>will be organised for visitors from most of the villages in the Bohinj area to the event and back. <a href=\"https:\/\/tdbohinj.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/kravji_bal_2026_prevozi_A5letak_TISK.pdf\">TIMETABLE<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">If you are travelling to Bohinj by car, we recommend parking at the Danica and Kobla car parks in Bohinjska Bistrica and continuing your journey by organised transport.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Join us in Ukanc and experience a day when Bohinj comes alive with the traditions of alpine herding, local flavours, music and good cheer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tdbohinj.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Prijavnica-stojnice-Kravji-bal-2026.docx.pdf\">Stand registration form<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Notice regarding photography and filming<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We would like to inform you that photographs and video footage will be taken at the event for the purposes of documenting and promoting the activities of the Bohinj Tourist Association.
