In December and January, we held two workshops on making various types of \u0161truklji for members of the Bohinj Tourist Association, led by Bohinj culinary expert Mrs. Katica Mikelj. Many home cooks often encounter difficulties with dough or fillings, but according to participants\u2019 positive feedback, Katica helped them overcome every challenge. We crafted cottage-cheese \u0161truklji with stretched dough, buckwheat dumplings, baked buckwheat \u0161truklji, potato \u0161truklji with a variety of fillings, \u201cdeaf\u201d (plain) \u0161truklji, and Kobari\u0161ki \u0161trukeljci.
\nIn February, our Bohinj Tourist Association members learned how to prepare perfect pizza dough and the secrets to baking an outstanding pizza. We had the privilege of being taught by the national pizza-baking champion, Jaka Valen\u010di\u010d. We even tried specialty pizzas topped with \u201czaseka\u201d (cured pork) or \u201cmohant\u201d cheese \u2014 both were delicious!
\nOur workshops, organized for members, are always full of laughter and are designed primarily for learning new skills.
